Yes, your vehicle is covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance while in transit. The coverage amount depends on the carrier handling the shipment, and you can always request a copy of their policy for details. For open transport, coverage typically ranges between $100,000 and $250,000, while enclosed transport can go up to several million dollars, offering extra protection for high-value vehicles

Most carriers allow you to place up to 100 lbs of personal belongings in the trunk or back seat. However, these items aren’t covered by insurance, and the driver has the right to refuse anything they believe could cause issues during transport. Keep in mind that most of the companies are charging additional fees for everything above 100 lbs.

Delivery times depend on the distance and route. Shorter routes (a few hundred miles) typically take 1–3 days, while cross-country shipments can take up to 7–10 days. Weather, traffic, and truck availability can also impact timing.
